Over the last few years, QR codes have started appearing everywhere. People have got used to scanning QR codes to:

  • Access digital menus at restaurants.
  • Make mobile payments by scanning codes at point-of-sale terminals.
  • Access marketing material such as product information, discounted offers, and social media sign-ups.
  • Download additional information on product packaging such as usage and assembly tutorials, warranties, and serving suggestions.
  • Gain entry, using the QR code as a paperless ticket for entertainment venues, sporting events, and travel.
  • Provide feedback on products and services.

This familiarity makes them an ideal way for your staff to access your SavvyIdeas suggestion box, especially when their roles mean that they're not sat in front of a computer all day.

So What, exactly, is a QR code?

A QR (or "Quick Response") code is a two-dimensional barcode which can encode a wide variety of information, including text, URLs, email addresses, calendar events, locations, and even wifi log-in details.

QR codes are usually square, with a checkerboard pattern of, typically, black squares on a white background. Pretty much every smartphone has a QR code scanner built-in, which makes QR code a great way of bridging the physical and digital worlds. When you scan a QR code containing a URL with your smartphone, it will open a browser and take you straight to that URL.

How do QR codes work with SavvyIdeas?

Whenever you create a new suggestion box, SavvyIdeas creates a QR code which encodes a link to it.

You can download, print out, and distribute this QR Code wherever your employees are, and when your employees scan it, they'll be taken straight to your suggestion box.

When should you use SavvyIdeas' QR codes?

If you have staff whose roles mean that they don't have regular access to computers, for example factory workers, shop staff, delivery drivers, etc., this provides an easy, convenient way for them to make suggestions, raise concerns and provide feedback.
